  • New PhD Position in Computer Vision/Deep Learning for Healthcare sponsored by Intuitive Surgical

  • Some researchers of the AVR Team are organizing the 4th national congress of the French Society for Magnetic Resonance in Biology and Medicine (SFRMBM), organized by ICube in 2019 from 19 to 21 March 2019 at the Hôtel du Département du Bas Rhin in Strasbourg.   • June 2017: Quentin Boehler is awarded by University of Strasbourg for his Ph.D. work on robotic assistance for MRI-guided tasks. Interview in french here. Quentin Boehler is current post-doc at ETHZ.
  • November 2016: Arnaud Bruyas receives the Best PhD Award from the GDR Robotique for his Ph.D. thesis entitled "Contribution of multi-material additive manufacturing for robotic design". A. Bruyas defended his Ph.D. in November 2015, under the supervision of Pierre Renaud with the advising of François Geiskopf. He is currently post-doc at the Yang Lab in Stanford University.

About the Lab

The Control, Vision and Robotics Lab (Equipe Automatique, Vision, Robotique) is part of the ICube laboratory. It investigates, designs and evaluates new robotic systems with an expertise that covers mechatronic design, control and computer vision. It develops in particular robotic systems for biomedical applications, a field for which the group has acquired an international reputation. It has a 15-year experience with long-term collaborations with IRCAD, IHU Strasbourg and Strasbourg Hospital.

Research is being conducted by 60 people at Telecom Physique Strasbourg and IRCAD, where it benefits from the I2RM platform, an experimental platform dedicated to medical robotics with hardware and software development equipments as well as an MRI interventional suite.

The group is active in national and international projects, including the LABEX CAMI, a national initiative in the field Computer Assisted Medical Interventions gathering 6 labs in France, and ROBOTEX, a national network of robotic platforms funded by the "Investissements d'Avenir" program.
