Research topics
- I am interested in the design and control of continuum robots for minimally invasive surgery. Throughout the years, I have developed first-hand experience with many continuum robot technologies (concentric tubes, fluidic, shape memory alloys, cable-actuated devices). I also have a strong interest in image-guided surgery, as well in the planning phase (patient specific robot design) than in the control phase (instrument tracking and image-based control). Finally, as those devices become more and more complex, interesting questions arise in the human-machine interface side, especially concerning registration, high-level control, and cooperative control.
